Beta Club
Mission Statement:
The purpose of the St. Francis Catholic School Beta Club shall be to promote the ideals of character, service, and leadership among students.
1. Achievement – Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement
2. Character – Preparing students for life and empowering them to be successful
3. Leadership – Developing the leaders of tomorrow
4. Service – Demonstrating our motto: Let us lead by serving others.
Academics:
To be eligible for the club, all students must have A’s and B’s in their core academic classes.
In order to continue being a member in Beta Club, students must maintain an 83- 90 average in their academic subjects. Beta club facilitators will be checking student averages each quarter. If a grade average falls below 83, the student will be put on probation. If the grade average does not return to an 83 average or above for the second consecutive quarter, the student will be removed from the Beta Club.
Character:
A Beta Club member must set an example for the rest of the school. They are expected to display character traits that align with Catholic virtues.  Therefore, any behavior that is not aligned with the goals of the National Junior Beta Club will not be tolerated.
If a member has poor character and numerous disciplinary infractions, they may be put on probation. If behavior does not improve for a second consecutive quarter, the student will be removed from Beta Club.
Once removed due to probation, the member will not be eligible until the start of the following school year. If a member is suspended, the member will be removed from the club and will not be eligible again in middle school unless approved by the Principal.
Leadership:
7th and 8th grade members elect a President, Vice-Presidents, Secretary, and Chaplain to serve for one school year.
Service to others:
Beta Club members will need to complete at least 20 hours of community service by the end of the first semester and another 20 hours by the end of the academic year. Beta Club members need to attend all meetings.
